Beresford
2001 Shiraz McLaren Vale

Appellation: McLaren Vale, Australia

Review Date : 2004-04-08

Winebork Rating = 90

Tasting Notes

Promising opaque purple color. Chewy, palate-coating Shiraz with lots going on in the aromas -- cassis, super-dark berries, lead pencil, and a huge dose of sweet spicy oak. Rich flavors, good finish with a considerable amount of round tannins. A bit elevated on the acid scale, but that will mellow out. Not inexpensive, but certainly less painful than most of our favorite Zins, and every bit as tasty.
