Ballantrae Wine Merchants (Costco)
2000 Shiraz

Appellation: Australia

Review Date : 2003-02-04

Tasting Notes

First tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Woody nose, hints of chocolate; green plums in the flavors, hot and slightly tannin finish. But after an hour of breathing: Hints of raspberry/boysenberry taste, plums, slightly chalky finish. This wine is much better with food and after sitting open for an hour.

Astonishing. The biggest Shiraz I've tasted, full of complex notes. A steal at the price.
